The ESG View Wizards give you "one-click" access to common functions for zooming and geolinking images. The following functions are included: - Zoom to All Datasets, Previous Zoom, Zoom to Current Dataset - View image at 1:2, 1:1 and 2:1 resolutions (zoom factors) - Geolink image windows - Unlink all image windows - Close all image windows These wizards are provided free of charge and may be distributed freely to anyone. No support will be given (but none should be needed). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Notes on Wizard Use and Behavior ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - The 1:2, 1:1 and 2:1 view wizards are similar to the "Dataset cells per pixel" setting on the Geoposition/Geolink dialog tab. One difference is that they keep the current image center point. A 1:1 view displays one screen pixel per image pixel (sometimes considered the optimal viewing resolution). - The 1:2, 1:1 and 2:1 view wizards on the PC platform will set an approximate 1:1, etc. zoom factor, but not exact. (It might 0.98:1 for example.) This is due to taking into account the width of scroll bars on image windows which vary slightly with the display resolution setting. On UNIX 5.5, the zoom factors are exact. - The 1:2, 1:1 and 2:1 view wizards must close the current image window, reopen a new one, and then redisplay the image. This means that any geolinking is lost, so they should not be used when picking GCPs. The new windows are always opened in the upper-left corner of the screen (not in their original position). - Previous Zoom (undo) does not revert to zooms created by the 1:2, 1:1 and 2:1 view wizards because these are not considered "zoom" functions by ER Mapper. - The Window and Screen Geolink modes link all windows at once, so the current active window controls the extents of the others. The Overview Zoom and Roam modes link only the active window (others are linked automatically). - Geolinking windows on the UNIX 5.5 version of ER Mapper does not automatically update the images (you must click GO, just the same as in the ER Mapper interface). Linked images are automatically updated in version 6.x. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PC (ER Mapper 6.x) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow these instructions to install the ESG View Wizards for ER Mapper on the PC Windows platform. 1) Close all ER Mapper applications. 2) Copy the file "esgvwiz10.exe" into a temporary directory on your hard drive. 3) Double-click on the .exe file in Windows Explorer.
